CIS Mission:
“At Communities In Schools of the South Plains®, we surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life.
Together, we nurture an inclusive, empathetic culture that celebrates the differences brought by our students, families, alumni, board members, employees, partners, and the communities we serve. Our diversity fuels our innovation strengthening our commitment to build an equitable path to education for future generations.”
Five Basics
A one-on-one relationship with a caring adult.
A safe place to learn and grow.
A healthy start and a healthy future.
A marketable skill to use upon graduation
A chance to give back to peers and the community.
Our Solution:
Communities in Schools® trains and places highly qualified site coordinators directly into schools where they work with school staff and parents to identify students at risk of dropping out. They connect these students and their families to existing community resources, tailored to their specific needs. Whether it is tutoring, eyeglasses, food, or a safe place to be after school, studies show that when these needs are met, students can concentrate on learning and teachers can focus on teaching.
Our Student Results:

99% PROMOTED TO THE NEXT GRADE
99% OF ELIGIBLE SENIORS GRADUATED

83% IMPROVED IN ATTENDANCE
